TINES® Rubbermat Vibration-Insulating Mats in the Reconstruction of Olkusz Station

Modernization of railway infrastructure is a key element in the development of transport and the improvement of its efficiency. As part of the “Clearing the Main Outbound Routes from Upper Silesia” project, a task was carried out that involved designing and executing the reconstruction works of Olkusz station. One of the investment challenges was the need to reduce vibrations transmitted from the railway tracks to the newly constructed underground crossing structure. For this purpose, TINES® Rubbermat vibration-insulating mats were used, which effectively reduce the impact of dynamic loads and provide long-lasting protection for the infrastructure.

Challenges

The primary issue was to limit the transmission of vibrations from the railway tracks to the structure of the underground crossing. Due to the intense train traffic, it was necessary to use a material with high durability and effective vibration damping. It was also crucial to ensure long-term resistance to varying operating conditions, including dynamic loads and the effects of weather.

Solution

To minimize the negative impact of vibrations, TINES® Rubbermat vibration-insulating mats were implemented, effectively damping the vibrations generated by passing trains. Thanks to their material properties, the dynamic impact on the structure of the underground crossing was reduced, resulting in increased durability and safety of the facility. The vibration-insulating mats were adapted to the specific operating conditions of Olkusz station, ensuring optimal protection.

This solution contributed to improved acoustic comfort for users and reduced the risk of damage resulting from dynamic loads.
