TINES® Vibration Isolation Mats

In line with current requirements for environmental protection in urbanized areas, an effective solution to protect the environment from the adverse effects of rail transport is the introduction of vibration isolation mats into tram track structures.

System description

In preparing the implementation of rail transport infrastructure modernization and construction projects, it is crucial to optimally select structural solutions that minimize the impact of vibrations and noise emitted by rail vehicles on the surrounding environment. The properties characterizing vibration isolation mats, their material parameters, functional and operational features have a significant impact on vibroacoustic insulation, electrical insulation, and protection against the adverse effects of stray currents on buildings and people.

TINES offers a wide range of vibration isolation mats, differing in terms of the material from which they are produced, technical parameters, thickness, and application. This allows the selection of vibration isolation material according to technical specifications, design requirements, and vibration impact analyses on buildings and people.

The use of TINES® vibration isolation mats enhances the comfort of passengers traveling by rail vehicles, reduces shocks and noise, thereby improving the living standard of residents living near tram lines.

Based on their application, we distinguish TINES® vibration isolation mats as:

  • STM under-slab mats (STM – Slab-Track Mats) designed for ballast-less surfaces, to be laid under the concrete track slab of the rail surface

  • SBM under-ballast/under-bedding mats (SBM – Sub-Ballast Mats) designed for ballasted track surfaces, to be laid under the layer of ballast bedding.
