On 6–7 November 2025, Railway Forum Napoli 2025 took place in Naples, jointly organised by UEEIV (Union of European Railway Engineer Associations) and CIFI (Collegio Ingegneri Ferroviari Italiani). The conference was held in the historic setting of the Pietrarsa National Railway Museum and focused on modern ballastless track solutions used in railways, metro systems and tram networks.
Over the two days of the event, participants discussed a range of issues related to the development of track infrastructure, including vibration and noise reduction, the performance of transition zones, the use of slab track technology in urban transport, as well as the life cycle of track infrastructure and its maintenance and modernisation.
In one of the sessions devoted to slab systems in public transport, Prof. Michał Strach of the AGH University of Krakow and Aneta Borowiec-Barchuk, Director of International Export Development at TINES Rail S.A., delivered a presentation. They showcased solutions for ballastless tram structures, presenting the TINES® TRAM system — an integrated tram-and-road surface solution.
The presentation demonstrated how experience gained from delivering integrated railway track systems on the PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. network has been used to promote this type of solution in tram infrastructure across Poland. The speakers drew on more than 20 years of experience, covering 175 completed projects and more than 5,000 metres of single track.
Railway Forum Napoli 2025 brought together representatives of many leading railway companies from across Europe, both as speakers and event partners. We are pleased to have been part of this important industry meeting, particularly one focused on the development and implementation of ballastless track technologies.
