Modern tram infrastructure requires solutions designed taking into account durability, safety, and long-term operating conditions. This applies in particular to investments involving the expansion of track layouts, the task of which is to ensure reliable operation of the infrastructure while reducing dynamic impacts generated by the movement of rail vehicles.

The expansion of the Las Gdański tram loop in Bydgoszcz, carried out by Balzola Polska Sp. z o.o., is one of the city’s key infrastructure investments aimed at increasing the operational capacity of tram transport and improving travel comfort for residents. The scope of the project includes, among other things, the construction of new track layouts with turnouts, the implementation of additional stabling tracks, and the construction of green tracks that support rainwater retention and noise reduction.

For the purposes of this investment, TINES provides a set of specialized TINES®Polyrail products intended for polyurethane bedding grout in both continuous and discrete (point-type) pouring technology, the TINES®Polyrail 53+ dielectric material, and the TINES®Polyrail EPX epoxy material used for anchor embedding.

The applied solutions provide:

  • durable, elastic rail support and fastening,
  • effective reduction of vibrations and dynamic impacts generated by tram traffic,
  • high resistance to operational loads and variable weather conditions,
  • track geometry stability and extension of the infrastructure lifecycle.

In the case of tram infrastructure, the correct choice of material solutions directly affects not only the durability of the track structure itself, but also the operational performance parameters of the infrastructure throughout its entire service life. The resistance of materials to dynamic loads, maintaining appropriate mechanical properties, and ensuring long-term structural stability are among the key issues considered when designing modern rail track systems.

For over 22 years, we have adhered to the principle that infrastructure durability begins with the correct selection of solutions for specific operating conditions. Therefore, each project is for us not just a delivery of materials, but above all a responsibility for the operational parameters of the infrastructure over many years of its service.

The project carried out in Bydgoszcz is another example of applying TINES®Polyrail solutions in demanding rail infrastructure projects where durability, safety, and operational reliability are among the most important criteria for selecting material solutions.

We would like to thank the Balzola Polska team and all participants of the investment process for their cooperation in implementing this project.
