On July 29, 2024, CPK announced a tender for the construction of a tunnel as part of the High-Speed Rail (KDP) project.The long-distance tunnel is a key element of the “Y” network, whose primary objective is to integrate various modes of transport and accelerate train travel within the framework of the “100-Minute Poland” project.Among all the tunnels built in Poland so far, this newly announced one will be the largest and, according to statements from the Ministry of Infrastructure, is considered a priority investment.
TINES already has experience in implementing High-Speed Rail (KDP) projects. The first tunnel under the High-Speed Rail program, in which TINES played a significant role, was opened in December 2016.Our company was the primary supplier of the TINES® EBS system technology. For those unfamiliar, TINES® EBS is a system of embedded block rail supports designed for use in ballastless rail track surfaces.The system has multiple applications, but it is particularly effective in sections where reducing vibrations caused by rail traffic is crucial, such as on engineering structures (steel or concrete) and in tunnels. The block supports are installed in prefabricated concrete or steel housings using the TINES® Polyrail elastic bonding compound. TINES offers two variants of block supports, each available in three different types. The selection of the appropriate TINES® EBS block rail support for a specific track surface construction should be in accordance with the technical design.
The successful completion of the first tunnel construction under Lodz paved the way for TINES to participate in the second phase of this major investment.Today, TINES is proud to be involved in a contract carried out by PBDiM on the Lodz Fabryczna – Lodz Żabieniec section, with a second track extending towards Lodz Kaliska.
