Tomasz Szuba at the Forum on Cohesion and Cross-Border EU Development in Bia\u0142ystok emphasized the importance of creating conditions in Poland that enable Polish producing companies to develop competencies domestically, especially in the context of implementing High-Speed Rail (HSR) projects within the Central Communication Port (CPP\/Centralny Port Komunikacyjny).<\/p>\n

Panel participants included local government representatives, the special economic zone, and the largest construction firms in Poland\u2014such as Budimex, PORR, and Unibep. Tomasz Szuba, President of the Management Board of TINES Rail S.A. and a member of the Presidium of the Polish Construction Cluster Council, spoke as a representative of the rail industry, manufacturers, and more broadly\u2014Polish business.<\/p>\n

\u201cManufacturing companies operating in the rail sector have been building their skills and track record for decades. In Poland we have enterprises that have been on the market for over 30 years. TINES has been part of this history for more than 20 years. During this time, alongside the development of rail infrastructure, we have developed our own technical, technological, and design solutions enabling speeds of 200\u2013250 km\/h,\u201d Szuba emphasized.<\/p>\n

In the President of TINES Rail S.A.\u2019s view, it is crucial today to enable Polish manufacturers to acquire competencies domestically, within strategic infrastructure projects such as the railway component of the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (High-Speed Rail).<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one abroad will give us the opportunity to gain experience in building high-speed rail. All global competitors have built their competencies by collaborating with their national railways at home. Polish firms must have the same opportunity here in Poland,\u201d the President of TINES Rail S.A. noted.<\/p>\n

Szuba also pointed out that instead of seeking restrictions stemming from public procurement law or financing sources, we should look for systemic solutions that will allow Polish firms to participate on equal terms in infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n

The Forum on Cohesion and Cross-Border EU Development provided a platform for sharing experiences about the future of border regions, their infrastructure and economic development. Organized by the Polish Construction Cluster, which holds the status of a National Key Cluster, the event gathered government and local authorities representatives, scientific institutions, and businesses.
