On April 3\u20134, 2025, the IGKM Track Commission meeting took place in Pozna\u0144 \u2014 one of the most important events in the tramway industry in Poland, organized by the Chamber of Urban Transport (Izba Gospodarcza Komunikacji Miejskiej). This year\u2019s edition was held under the theme: \u201cThe impact of tram infrastructure on the development of urban mobility and the shape of metropolitan areas.\u201d<\/p>\n

TINES Rail not only participated in the event as a sponsor, but also actively contributed to its substantive program. Our experts \u2013 Magdalena Bodzo\u0144 and Micha\u0142 Rybacki \u2013 delivered a presentation titled \u201c<\/em>TINES polymer elastomers in tram track superstructure constructions,\u201d<\/strong> which attracted considerable interest among conference participants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The presentation featured innovative solutions using TINES\u00ae Polyrail<\/strong> polyurethane elastomers<\/strong> \u2013 materials of the future that perform exceptionally well in ballastless tram track structures. Their unique properties \u2013 such as elasticity, vibration and noise damping, resistance to harsh environmental conditions, high operational durability, as well as resistance to corrosion and chemicals \u2013 make them ideal for applications in rail transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the capabilities of materials engineering, it is possible to precisely design the properties of elastomers already at the stage of laboratory formulation. Materials that are perfectly tailored to the specific technical requirements of tram tracks are then used in industrial-scale production. The presentation also highlighted the discrepancy between the material requirements applied to construction materials and those applied to the properties of fastening systems. Using several examples based on testing procedures, we demonstrated which approach offers greater assurance of the long-term durability of tramway infrastructure.<\/p>\n
